Since its foundation in 1964 the Sir Jules Thorn Charitable Trust has provided funding to numerous organisations addressing the specific issues in which the Trust is interested.

- Medical Research awards support activities related to medical science, medicine and serious illness;
- Medically Related Donations support organisations operating in the areas of serious illness and disability;
- Ann Rylands Small Donations are awarded to a wide range of UK charities to support initiatives addressing disability, disadvantage and overcoming adversity.
